My name is: Kristina

- What do you love about what you do?
When one of my clients contacts me because she has made some progress, had an ‘AHA’ moment with her diet, or simply feels better about herself, it gives me the most heart-warming feeling! To know that I have made an impact, however small, on another woman’s fitness journey and their life is so rewarding.
- What did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always been a keen ‘Jack of all trades’, loving to learn new things and master different skills, my dream career has been ever changing… from wanting to be an architect, dancer, Financial Advisor, Event planner… the list goes on! One thing I can say for certain is that I have always loved planning and organising things and knew that one day I would run my own business.
- Who inspires you?
Over the last few years I have been very inspired by Tim Ferris, an entrepreneur, author, and public speaker. He has been coined the ‘Oprah of Radio’ and is known for his unconventional approach to learning new skills and running his business. If you have not read his book ‘The 4 Hour Work Week’ I would highly recommend it, it changed my life.
- What is non negotiable in your week?
Probably an obvious one seeing as I am a fitness professional, but it has to be EXERCISE! For me it has become such a big part of my life, my career, and my well-being. If I have to take a break from exercising for any reason, I don’t feel myself. Working out is my therapy, it reminds me to be grateful for my health and my body, and it prepares me mentally for whatever challenges I face in my life outside of the gym too!
- Tell us one thing that not many people know about you!
Probably that I am a major foodie! I love eating healthy and working out but I still LOVE cake, wine, and all that good stuff, a lot of people assume that, because I am a fitness lifestyle enthusiast, I just never eat unhealthy food or go out. I totally do, I just don’t do it as often! It’s all about balance and finding a happy medium in life.
- Tell our Body Notes / Life Notes/ Soul Notes readers your favourite tip to look after your body/ live the life you love/ have a soul fulfilled life.
BODY NOTE: If you want to get fit and healthy, you don’t need to go on a crazy diet, workout everyday, or even join a gym – you just need to make small changes to your lifestyle. If you sit down all day at work, going to the gym for 30min afterwards is good, of course. However, perhaps a more beneficial and more sustainable approach would be to try and become more active in your everyday life. Make it a point to walk places instead of getting a taxi/bus, get up and speak to your colleagues at work instead of emailing them, hold your next meeting standing or even walking! As for your diet it could simply be as small of a change as cutting down on the sugar, drinking more water, or replacing store bought lunches with homemade ones. It’s not rocket science, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, just make small changes.
LIFE NOTE: Something that I underestimated for a long time was connecting with others, and I don’t mean on social media or cold networking… I mean meeting new people in person and making meaningful real-life connections. Whether you’re in full time work, a student, business owner, or freelancer, and regardless of whether you feel you need to meet anyone, get yourself out there and tell the world that you’re about. You never know who you will meet or what opportunities you will walk into.
SOUL NOTE: The best advice I ever took was to slow down and enjoy every second of my day, bad or good – you won’t get that second back. I used to feel like I was always rushing life, like… ‘only 2 weeks until this’, ‘only 2 more hours of this’. Don’t just tip toe around each day trying to look pretty, get involved, live and breathe every moment, spend each day like a mini lifetime.
- What would you like your epitaph to read?
Well this is a different question! I plan on leaving some sort of positive mark on this world, however I also don’t like taking life too seriously… so maybe some sort of joke like: #postlegdayfeels (if you know, you know)
